Virginia McKenna bids for ‘Amazing Grace’

Pollyanna once again enjoyed attending the annual Born Free Pride in the Park gala ball in aid of the Born Free Foundation, as a guest at Virginia McKenna’s table. They are pictured (above) after the meal, following the progress of the auction. Television antiques expert James Lewis conducted the auction which included a canvas giclee print of Pollyanna’s acclaimed landscape ‘Amazing Grace’.

The landscape depicts a Golden Eagle in flight over the water which sepreates the isle of Skye from the Scottish mainland, a scene sketched by Pollyanna when she stayed in the Born Free cottage on Skye two years ago. Pollyanna was delighted when Virginia McKenna was the winning bidder for the picture – the only auction item she purchased during the evening!

Meanwhile the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation was pleased to make a donation of £850.00 towards the charity’s work with rescued big cats.
