The Company of Wolves Prize Draw

The Winning Ticket in the Company of Wolves Prize Draw was drawn in a special ceremony by sporting legend Bob Champion, pictured right with Pollyanna. Winner of the 1982 Grand national, he now devotes his time to fund-raising for the Bob Champion Cancer Trust, but was pleased to find time in his busy schedule to help the Foundation.

The Winner of the First Prize, the Original painting 'Ring Around the Moon was Mr Peter Dalton of Sileby in Leicestershire.

Between the sales of prize draw tickets, tickets, and percentage of sales donated by Pollyanna from the "Company of Wolves" exhibition, the Foundation raised £5660.00. A cheque of £3650.00 has already been presented to Born Free to help fund their work with the Ethiopian Wolf Conservation Project. Last autumn Rabies took a deadly hold among the wolves of the Bale Mountains National Park, and with only 500 remaining, a state of emergency was declared. The EWCP tranquillises, inoculates and re-releases the wolves. To date the project has been a great success, with no known problems or mortality amongst the vaccinated wolves. Smaller donations have also been made to Milvus, a Romanian conservation group, and Wolfwatch UK. Although the Carpathian Large Carnivore Project has now completed its ten year project to study and monitor the wolves in Romania, Pollyanna is keeping in touch with the project's founders.
