Choose A Cheetah:

Tlala

Tlala is a stunning female of eight years old. She was born in the wild in Botswana but was found abandoned as a cub – it is believed that her Mother was shot. This is where her name, which means Hunger, came from. She has been living in sanctuary at De Wildt ever since.

Grumpy

Eight year old Grumpy was rescued from the Kalahari along with his sister after their mother had been shot. He earned his name because he spent the whole trip back to De Wildt trying to chew anything and anyone within reach!

Mselikatse
Pussycat (Tswana)

Mselikatse, fondly known as Pussycat by De Wildt Staff is a beautiful Female of eight Years old. She was rescued from the Kalahari after her Mother was shot by poachers. She has one brother called Grumpy and they are both very feisty cats!

Spike

Six year old Spike is a very adventurous cheetah and a very good climber. As a result he has a rather worrying habit of climbing over his fence and going to visit the female camps. As you can imagine he has been the cause of many sleepless nights for the staff and volunteers at De Wildt!

Adoption Packages

You and your family can take a special interest in one of De Wildts’ rehabilitated or relocated wild cheetahs, by adopting one or more of them. By selecting one of these animals and by sending your adoption donation you will be playing an important role in supporting and conserving these animals.

Only 300 Adoption packages are available exclusively through the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation. Anyone who adopts a cheetah through this scheme will also be entered into a prize draw to win a Week for two at the De Wildt centre in South Africa, including flights from the UK, transfers, seven nights board in the cheetah lodge with breakfast and dinner included, and an exclusive ‘behind the scenes’ visit of the centre to see the rehabilitation work being carried out and a meeting with an ‘ambassador’ cheetah.
