Pollyanna Opens Cats Protection League Centre
Pollyanna officially opened the Cats Protection League adoption
centre in Derby back in 1988. She was delighted to be invited
back last September to ‘cut the ribbon’ and officially
open their brand new reception area, and care annex which provides
15 extra pens.

Pollyanna and the Chief Executive of Cats Protection, Peter
Hepburn also jointly unveiled a plaque commemorating the event,
kindly funded by Derby and District Branch of Cats Protection.
“I am so impressed by the quality of the accommodation
provided for the cats here at this centre, and the new areas
will prove a fantastic addition to their resources” Pollyanna
commented “The work they do in rehoming unwanted and abandoned
cats with new loving owners is wonderful”.
The bright and breezy weather helped to bring the crowds along
to help celebrate the unveiling. There were stalls, refreshments
a tombola and entertainment for the children and adults, and
the day raised nearly £4,000 for the centre. During the
event several of the cats were lucky enough to meet their new
families for the first time and have since gone to their new
homes.
The adoption centre always offers a warm welcome to anyone
who would like to visit. They are open every day 11am until
3pm, and someone is always on hand to offer advice on choosing
a cat or any kind of cat related enquiries. There is no need
to make an appointment and Alice and Mirella, the reception
cats, will be happy to show you around when you arrive! For
