Exhibitions
Pollyanna has held numerous one man exhibitions in top galleries
in the UK and Worldwide.
For many years she was accredited to the Tryon & Moorland
gallery in London, and staged a major exhibition 'A Charm of
Birds' with them in 1981. She is proud to have staged the inaugural
exhibitions at the Peter Simmonite Gallery (Sheffield, 1981)
the Pentameters Gallery (Hampstead, 1987) the new wildlife art
gallery at the Derby City Museum and Art gallery (1998), and
the Fable gallery (Sheffield, 2000) In 2007 she staged her first
joint exhibition with her daughter Anna-Louise, an accomplished
photographer. In 1983 her work was accepted for exhibition by
the Royal Academy.
Pollyanna has also exhibited with the Halcyon Gallery in Birmingham,
Selfridges Art gallery, the Westminster Galleries, and the Mall
galleries in London, (the latter with the Society of Wildlife
Artists), along with many other regional UK galleries and venues
including Renishaw Hall by kind invitation of Lady Sitwell,
and Sandbeck Hall by invitaion of the Earl of Scarborough.
As a patron of The Wildlife Art Society, Pollyanna is pleased
to include original work in their exhibitions, including their
annual exhibition.In 2000 this was held at the Watershed Media
Centre, Bristol, in association with the Wildscreen film awards,
October 2000, during the exhibition Pollyanna was awarded theprestigeous
Millenium Trophy. In 2002 she accrued the most public votes
for the best painting in the exhibition for a single artist.
She won the Gold Award for the best painting in their 2003 international
art exhibition, and was honoured to act as their celebrity ambassador
at the VIP evening. In the same year she was one of three finalists
for the for the Christopher Parson's award for the best portfolio
of work. In 2004 she was again awarded their Gold Medal, and
in 2006 accepted the post of patron of the society, since when
she has presented the awards at the annual exhibition.
In 2005 Pollyanna included work in the International Wildlife
Art Exhibition in Milan, and flew over to officially open the
event during the glittering preview evening which was filmed
for Italian television. She has also exhibited on Italy's beautiful
Portofino coast, at the Hotel Portofino Klum, renowned for its
'Art Salon' events, alongside renowned sculptor Lorenzo Quinn
(the son of actor Anthony Quinn), whose work has been commissioned
by the Vatican and the United Nations, and can be seen in prestigious
galleries and museums throughout Europe.
She has exhibited in the Marathon Boatyard gallery in Florida,
and with Christies International at the Barren Grounds Bird
Observatory in Australia.
Pollyanna also exhibitits regularly with the Society of Feline
Artists in London, and in the National Exhibition of Widlife
Art in Liverpool.
In 2008 she will exhibit work at the Hiraum Blauvelt Art Museum
in New York with the Artists for Conservation Foundation, highlighting
her participation in the flag expeditions programme.
In 1980 Pollyanna established a private gallery at her home in the Peak District of Derbyshire. As well as housing a permanent display of work (Viewable strictly by appointment only). The gallery is opened annually every Christmas for special exhibitions of new work, and has also been the venue for major Summer exhibitions of work inspired by her foreign expeditions.
Her original paintings also hang in private and corporate collections
around the world from Australia to Siberia, gracing the walls
of major companies including British Gas and Hoover. Public
figures who own paintings include Sheik Mohammed, David Bowie
and John Hurt. The art collection of Princess Anne includes
a pencil study of a horse presented to her during a ceremony
in 1998.
