Pollyanna is honoured to
have accepted the post of Global Ambassador for Australian based
conservation group Wildlife Warriors.

the role of patron to the ABC Animal Sanctuary. The sanctuary
was founded by actress and animal lover Alexandra Bastedo best
known for her role in cult TV series The Champions.

Pollyanna was very saddened to hear of the death of Princess
Elizabeth de Croy, a tireless campaigner for the welfare of
animals on the International Stage. Princess Elizabeth worked
tirelessly for animals all around the world for more than 40
years, seeking to stop cruelty and advance animal welfare legislation.

Great Wall Exhibition
Pollyanna was proud to open her private gallery to present

Feb 10 - Celebrity Launch for Prize
Draw
Famous faces from stage and screen visited Pollyanna to lend
their support to the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation’s
first fundraising campaign of 2010. Popular actress Liza Goddard
joined Christopher Cazenove and Coronation Street’s Jack
Ellis to officially launch the annual prize draw.
Jan 10 - Pollyanna returns from expedition
to China
In January 2010 Pollyanna made her first return journey to
China in fifteen years, travelling far beyond the legendary
Great Wall in search of some of the country’s most endangered
species.

2009 ended on a high note for Pollyanna when
she was.named ‘Professional Wildlife Artist of the Year’

Dec 09 - Chris Tarrant Picks a Winner
Chris Tarrant is used to changing people’s lives by giving
away huge sums of money of the programme Who Wants to be a Millionaire
– but he made another lucky winner very happy when he
selected the winning ticket in the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation
prize draw for an original painting.

of the Year
Pollyanna was named ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’
in the inaugural The Derbyshire Times Business Awards in a glittering
ceremony at Hassop Hall. The award was created to recognise
an outstanding individual who best demonstrates exceptional
vision and leadership in the establishment and development of
an owner-led business.

The journal kept by Pollyanna on her expedition
through Bhutan has been published by Artists for Conservation
as a deluxe leather-bound limited edition book, of just 100
copies.

The winner of the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation grand prize
draw has been drawn by actress and conservationist Virginia
McKenna.
Aug 09 - Save the Highland Tiger
Pollyanna has pledged her support to Highland Tiger, a new
project to educate and raise awareness about the highly endangered
Scottish Wildcat, our only remaining native feline.

At the end of her Summer Exhibition which was on of the official
events held to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Born Free Foundation,
Pollyanna was proud to be able to present founder Virginia
McKenna with a cheque for £12,000 on behalf of
her charitable Foundation.

Print raises £1,000.00 for Born Free
Pollyanna was delighted when a print of her pianting of 'Sinbad'
the lion raised £1,000 at the auction at the Pride in
Park ball on the 6th June.

In her role as a member of the development commitee of new
Derby Arts Centre Quad, Pollyanna was pleased to welcome actor
John Hurt as patron at a celebration dinner at the Cathedral
Quarter Hotel.
April 09 - Pollyanna returns from Ethiopia
Expedition
In the Spring of 2009 Pollyanna undertook one of her most challenging
expeditions to date – to sketch and paint the rarest wolf
in the world. Accompanied by her daughter and business partner
Anna-Louise she travelled to the remote and inhospitable Bale
mountain regions, where she stayed and worked with the Ethiopian
Wolf Conservation Project.

Pollyanna was one of three women commended for their achievements
in the Business Woman of the Year award category at the Women
in Public Life Awards. The award rewarded the most influential
business woman that parliamentarians identifed as having made
an outstanding contribution within the business sector during
the past year.

programme – and there is an entire chapter dedicated to
Pollyanna’s fellowship expedition into Bhutan.

Pollyanna was pleased to attend the gala opening weekend of
the inaugural exhibition of the Artists for Conservation ehibition
in New York. The exhibition celebrates artistic excellence in
the depiction of nature, raises awareness of conservation issues.

July 08 - Land of the Thunder Dragon Exhibition
In June 2008 Pollyanna was proud to open her private gallery
for the first major exhibition of over fifty paintings inspired
by five weeks trekking and camping in the remote Himalayan kingdom
of Bhutan, one of the world's last true wilderness environments.

While trekking in Bhutan Pollyanna visited a very remote Buddhist
monastery, where she got in to conversation with the sole caretaker
monk, who took her into a part of the temple which was hardly
ever shown to either foreign or Bhutanese visitors.

Drive
The Wildlife Art Society International are one of the largest
and best recognised Wildlife Art Societies. However they are
keen to continue to expand their community of artists, and have
recently launched a membership drive. As one of the patrons
of the society, Pollyanna is lending her support to this initiative.

The latest documentary about Pollyanna's work ‘Made in
England’ was broadcast Wednesday April 23 on BBC1.
Mar 08 - Pollyanna becomes honorary member
of Rotary
The Matlock Rotary Club have inducted Pollyanna into the society
as an honorary member in recognition by both the club and the
local community of “Pollyanna’s outstanding contribution,
both nationally and internationally to wildlife conservation
through her many works of art depicting species in this country
and overseas”.
Mar 08 - Pollyanna gives her backing
to Spotlight on China Campaign
In her role as patron of Naturewatch, Pollyanna has given her
backing to their new 'Spotlight
on China Campaign'. The Project's ultimate goal is to
help the Chinese authorities introduce and enforce animal welfare
laws for the purpose of protecting domestic, farmed and captive
animals in China.
Feb 08 - Cheetah Conservation Weekend
in Pollyanna's Gallery
In February Pollyanna opened her gallery for a special weekend
in support of cheetah conservation. Vanessa Bezuidenhout (above
left) director of the De Wildt Cheetah and Conservation Trust
flew over from South Africa for the event and was present in
the gallery throughout.

Pollyanna has recently accepted the role of UK ambassador to
support a remarkable wild cheetah rescue and relocation programme
based in South Africa.

We are delighted to announce that The University of Derby have

Pollyanna during their 2008 graduation ceremonies.

Exhibition in Pollyanna’s private gallery in November.

a new excellence award from Derbyshire County Council, for her
‘outstanding personal achievement’ which has helped

Feb 07 - Pollyanna to Undertake WNAG flag
expedition
Pollyanna is delighted to announce that she has been granted
a fellowship from Canada based society The Worldwide Nature
Artists Group in support of her next expedition into the Himalayan
Kingdom of Bhutan. Pollyanna is the first woman ever to be granted
a fellowship by the group – and the first artist to be
selected from outside Canada or North America.

Pollyanna was very saddened to hear of the recent death of
Magnus Magnusson. The RSPB commissioned Pollyanna to paint an
original work to be presented to Magnus to celebrate their centenary
year in 1989.

Nov 03 - Gold Medal for Tranquility
2003 ended on a high note for Pollyanna when she was presented
with the top award to be bestowed at The Wildlife Art Society's
International exhibition.

Sept 03 - New Logo for USA Yorki Rescue
Pollyanna has designed the new logo for United Yorki Rescue,
the national American rescue organisation for Yorkshire Terriers.

Jul 03 Stamps for the Republic of the
Congo
The Democratic Republic of the Congo have used twelve of Pollyanna's
most popular paintings of domestic cats on a series of postage
stamps.
May 03 - European Woman of Achievement Awards
Pollyanna was recently honoured at a lavish international awards
ceremony at London's Grosvenor house.
Apr 03 - Secret World Book
Pollyanna is delighted to be one of several celebrity contributors
to the forthcoming book 'Secret World' which tells the story
of the remarkable wildlife rescue centre run by Pauline Kidner
in Somerset.
Mar 03 - Pollyanna becomes a patron of
Naturewatch
Having been on Naturewatch's list of official supporters for
over a year, Pollyanna was honoured when this excellent campaigning
organisation asked her to become a patron, alongside Princess
Elizabeth de Croy, TV presenter Chris Packham, and Actress Alexandra

Feb 03 - First Pollyanna Pickering Stamps
Issued
Pollyanna has been honoured with a commission from the African
Republic of Benin to paint a series of 12 'Owls of the World'
for a set of commemorative stamps
Dec 02 - Pollyanna is public's favourite
At the recent annual exhibition of The Wildlife Art Society,
the general public were invited to vote for their favourite
piece of work. Pollyanna was delighted when the three paintings
she had on exhibition gathered between them the most overall
votes for all the work on show by a single artist.

Harrods, the world's most famous department store have commissioned
Pollyanna to design an exclusive range of gift ware.
Jan 02 - Fine Art of Business
Pollyanna is no stranger to receiving awards for her acclaimed
paintings of endangered species - but at the end of last year
she was recognised for another aspect of her work. Pollyanna
was honored to be one of just six finalists chosen from hundreds
of entries for the Midlands Businesswoman of the Year Award.
Aug 01 - Pollyanna becomes a Trustee of
theAfrican/Asian Conservation Trust
Pollyanna is continuing in her quest to help save endangered
species around the world by accepting a post as trustee of the
African Asian Conservation Trust.
Jul 01 - The Temple of the Jaguar King

gallery was transformed into a little piece of Central America
- nearly 50 brand new originals were displayed for the first
time among thick foliage, brightly colored parrots - and an
indoor pond complete with lurking crocodile and rising mist!

Mar 01 - Paintings to help Canal Appeal
Pollyanna has given her name to to a £35m restoration
plan for the Derby and Sandiacre canal. Three of her paintings
have been reproduced as collectors prints - and the society
hopes to raise £50,000 through the work.
Dec 00 - Pollyanna awarded Millenium Trophy
Pollyanna has been selected by the Wildlife Society of Artists
to receive their special Millennium Trophy for Wildlife Art.
