Seal of Approval for New Campaign

The Pollyanna Pickering Foundation is honoured that Princess
Elizabeth de Croy has officially launched its major
fund-raising campaign for 2005. The project will help tiger
conservation world wide, especially in Nepal. In Conjunction
with Bill Jordan's Wildlife Defence Fund the Foundation is planning
to raise funds to build a new tiger orphanage in the Chitwan
National Park. It is hoped that by working together the two
organisations will be able to begin work on the orphanage early
next year.
Princess Elizabeth is pictured above with Pollyanna and the
superb original painting of a white tiger which will be the
first prize in the Foundation's annual prize draw. There will
be a further eleven runners up prizes.
Princess de Croy, who carries the titles of Her Serene Highness
Princess Elizabeth de Croy and Princess of Solre is descended
from the Kings of Hungary, and is a highly respected international
animal welfare advocate. The Princess is vice-president of the
Paris based National Council for the Protection of animals,
and is on the advisory board of WSPA and the RSPCA in the UK
as well as being associated with countless other animal welfare
organisations. She is a great admirer of Pollyanna's work -
selling many cards over the years to help raise funds for her
own animal shelter in Thiernay, France.
Now a dedicated campaigner on behalf of her beloved animals,
the Princess has lead a fascinating life. Asked about a duel
that was once fought over her favours, she replied, "It
was so long ago! Nobody was killed, I'm relieved to say –
just a trickle of blood".
Following the launch, an interview with Pollyanna was filmed
for a documentary about the Princess which is currently in production
