Published Work
Over the past 30 years, Pollyanna has become the most published
artist in the UK. Practically every home in Britain will have
enjoyed her work at some time in the form of a Christmas or
greeting card, print or calendar.
Pollyanna’s very first published work was commissioned
by Cockaynes Department store for use in their advertising campaigns
in 1970. In the early part of her career, Pollyanna also designed
packaging for American pet food company Dyno pet products and
Sutherland Foods.
Between 1971 - 1980 Pollyanna’s work was published by
Mill Wheel. Over 60 fine art prints were marketed throughout
Europe in conjunction with Espagna International. From 1982
- 1992 Pollyanna was under contract to publishers Drayco, who
published over 200 fine art prints and several limited editions,
and also expanded Pollyanna’s work on to an assortment
of gift ware, including bone china and stationary.
During this period specially commissioned work was also published
by Bemrose Ltd., including the British Gas calendar in 1991
and the 1992 calendar “Birds and Bridges of Derbyshire”
for the Derbyshire Building society, sold in support of the
Council for the Preservation of Rural Britain. They commissioned
a further 12 paintings for the 1996 “Wonderful Wildlife”
calendar which raised funds for Pollyanna’s nominated
charity Care for the Wild. In 1992 Febo International published
exclusive limited edition prints and in 1994 Irish Linen Company
Ulster weavers produced the first of a still increasing range
of designs by Pollyanna.
Pollyanna has painted three series of limited edition collectors
plates for Royal Doulton and Wedgwood, distributed through the
Bradford Exchange. In 2003 she began a new collaboration with
Danbury Mint who are continuing to release new collectors plates.
Since 1996 she has designed a series of exclusive gift ware
for Harrods, and was commissioned paint the designs for the
ranges of giftware, commemorative plates and cards to accompany
both their twentieth and twentyfirst anniversary Harrods Bears.
The prestigious fine art publishers Rosenstiels have also published
a series of Pollyanna’s work as limited edition prints.
In 2000 DMC produced the first of her designs to be adapted
as tapestries and cross stitch sets. Her work is also licensed
by several International companies. In 2003 Bradford Exchange
America released a new sries of collectables, while ranges of
stone ware, stained glass, cheques, jigsaws and stationary are
also published and marketed exclusively in the USA.
American publishers Browntrout publish several Fine Art Calendars
of Pollyanna's work annually for International distribution.
Since 1994 Pollyanna’s work has been published by Otter
House Ltd., who have published over 250 fine art prints to date,
as well as limited editions, and an extensive range of greeting
and Christmas cards. Their gift ware range includes decorative
mats, fine china ware, stationery, and even jigsaws and enamel
brooches, and they currently export her work into over 80 countries
around the world. In 1999 Otter House launched the capsule range
“Sanctuary” which commemorates Pollyanna’s
remarkable series of expeditions to study endangered wildlife.
The Countryside range of cards, prints, stationary and giftware
launched in 2000 celebrates Pollyanna's love of British Wilidfe.
The 'Classic' 'Gallery' and 'Studio' ranges all feature her
paintings of pedigree dogs, cats and domestic animals.
Otter House's book publishing division have commissioned four
books of Pollyanna's artwork, with taxt and photography by Pollyanna's
daughter and Business parter Anna-Louise.
Pollyanna has also painted covers for and illustrated two books
by actress and conservationist Alexandra Bastedo.
Her work frequently appears on the covers and in the pages
of magazines - My Weekly have commissioned several works of
fiction inspired by her artwork.
She has painted six series of stamps for the republic of the
Congo, and two for the Republic of Benin, and in the UK has
painted first day covers for the Royal Mail.
Pollyanna's work has been commissioned and published by every
major wildlife art charity in the UK, including WWF and the
RSPB, and several international organisations. more
