The
Blush Ball 2007
In her role as a guardian of Breast Cancer Haven,
Pollyanna was delighted to one again attend their major annual
event, the Blush Ball, held in the Natural History Museum in
London. Pollyanna was honoured to be invited to join the top
table to sit alongside the charity’s main patron Sophie,
Countess of Wessex.
The glamorous event once again attracted a host of other celebrities,
including Tim Rice, Ballerina Darcy
Bussell, Eastenders actress Kim Metcalf,
model Jasmine Lennard, Channel Four property
expert Kirstie Allsop, Jockey Willie
Carson, Lady Victoria Hervey, and
BBC newsreader Emily Maitless. The host for
the evening was impressionist Rory Bremner
(above with Pollyanna), who also conducted the auction. Items
bid for included an exclusive canvas giclee of Pollyanna’s
acclaimed painting 'Amazing Grace’ – the winning
bidder also got a night in the Peacock Hotel at Rowsley (kindly
donated by the managers) and the chance to visit Pollyanna’s
studio and meet her. The evening raised a wonderful £208,000.00
which will be put towards the opening of a new Breast Cancer
Haven Centre in Leeds.
Breast Cancer Haven supports the physical and emotional needs
of anyone affected by breast cancer. Havens are welcoming day
centres which offer free support, information and complementary
therapies to help you before, during and after medical treatment.
They aim to open centres throughout the UK. Pollyanna was successfully
treated for breast cancer five years ago, and is pleased to
offer her ongoing support to this wonderful organisation.
