Pollyanna is pleased to have been invited to take part in a new project 'Sheffield Showcase'

Sheffield Showcase is an outdoor gallery around the Sevenstone development site. Pollyanna currently has four dramatic canvases inspired by her safaris into Africa on display in Cambridge Street.

This is a collaboration between The Source, Sheffield City Council and the greatest artistic talent in the region which is giving Sheffield City Centre a makeover. The dynamic initiative is offering a platform for creative individuals to contribute to the improvement of the city by showcasing their wares within the window spaces.

Council Leader Paul Scriven, who unveiled a showcase of Sheffield talent in July as part of the City's Vacant Shops Strategy, said: "This isn't just window dressing - far from it. We want to showcase the best talent the region has to offer and why not use the space available in an exciting and eye-catching way. We needed something exciting to drive up and maintain footfall around the Sevenstone development site and what better way of bringing the space to life."

Rock of Ages - Gouache on canvas - £2,500.00

Pollyanna was inspired to paint this leopard after vsiting a site of prehistoric rock piantings in Namibia. She commented "I was fascinated by the idea of combining my own 21st century work with the work of artists from thousands of years ago. Wildlife Art is probably the oldest art form - the earliest cave paintings ever discovered depict animals."

'Clash of the Titans' - Gouache on Canvas - £2,500.00

Pollyanna painted this canvas after sketching thinos in South Africa "Rhinos look almost prehistoric, and in the painting I wanted to depict a territorial battle between two huge males - and the clouds of red dust created during their confrontation".

'Dawn of Time' - Gouache on canvas - £1850.00

A second painting inspired by Pollyanna's visit to prehistoric settlements in Namibia.

Also on Exhibition in the Showcase is 'Spirit of Africa' - lions and Masai Warrior - Gouache on canvas - £9,500.00
