Talk : Giant Pandas and Sleeping Dragons

Event: Launch of ‘Animated Nature’

Details: Pollyanna will be attending the launch of the new poetry anthology by Born Free’s poet in Residence Richard Bonfield, which features her painting of a kingfisher on the front cover. A selection of Pollyanna’s paintings will also be on display during the event, and Pollyanna and Richard will be on hand to sign copies of the book. Virginia McKenna will also be a special guest, and will also be happy to sign books, and chat about the work of Born Free. There will be a poetry reading at 4.30pm, and the ticket price includes a vegetarian buffet. Details: Pollyanna will be speaking about her landmark flag expedition into the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan in search of snow leopards as part of the Chester Society of Natural Science Literature and Art’s Spring Programme for 2008 . Venue : The Winding Wheel, Holywell Street, Chesterfield.

Details : Pollyanna is pleased to return once again by popular demand to the Winding Wheel, with a special talk which will include the first chance to see images from her expedition into China in January 2010. Join Pollyanna as she travels from the earthquake ravaged southwest, where she visits a rehabilitation centre caring for pandas affected by the natural disaster, to the extreme Northeast where she searches for the elusive Amur Tigers. Event: International Wildlife Art Society Exhibition,

Details: As patron of the society Pollyanna will be including work in this exhibition which will be held in the remarkable surroundings of the magnificent Port Lympne Mansion There are three mural rooms in the Mansion painted by Rex Whistler, Spencer Roberts and Martin Jordan, inspired by wildlife and world travel, and these provide a fascinating setting for the exhibition of paintings by members of The Wildlife Art Society. The Park is open 10am-5pm, entrance tickets are priced at £16.95 for adults and £12.95 for children. Event : ‘Meet the Rhino’ Open Weekend

Venue : The Gallery Brookvale House Oaker Matlock Derbyshire DE4 2JJ

Details : Why not join us at Pollyanna’s private gallery this Easter Weekend to welcome the newest residents in her garden – a life-size adult and baby rhino! These incredibly lifelike sculptures have been imported from South Africa, and will be officially unveiled at this special event. Also on display will be the other latest additions to the menagerie – joining two life size giraffe sculptures – three wildebeests, and an ostrich sculpture created from reclaimed scrap metal. This is your chance to photograph a rhino up close without the long haul flight …. or the danger!

Talk: A Brush with Wildlife

Venue : Attenborough Nature Centre Barton Lane Attenborough Nottingham NG9 6DY

Details: Pollyanna will be giving this talk – a light-hearted look at years when she ran her wildlife sanctuary, and the paintings inspired by the animals she cared for – as the opening event of a month long exhibition of cross stitch designs at the reserve. Two members of The Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust have taken over a year to stitch 30 wildlife designs, including many adapted from Pollyanna’s own paintings. All proceeds from both the talk and the exhibition will be donated to the Trust. Event: International Wildlife Art Society Exhibition – on behalf of the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation

Venue: Nature in Art, Twigworth, Gloucester

Details: We are delighted to announce that a percentage of all the sales from this exhibition showcasing the cream of wildlife art from around the world will be donated to The Pollyanna Pickering Foundation, to fund our international conservation work. The event is being held in the world's first museum dedicated exclusively to fine, decorative and applied art inspired by nature. As a patron of the Wildlife Art Society International, Pollyanna will have four original works included in the exhibition and a selection of her cards prints and gift ware available throughout. Details: Pollyanna will be presenting her talk about her travels around the UK to paint our own native wildlife to mark the end of a month long exhibition of cross stitch designs at the reserve, many based on Pollyanna’s paintings. Following the talk, Pollyanna will be pleased to sign copies of her new book of Wildlife Cross Stitch designs – ‘Mother and Baby’. Attenborough Nature Centre is an award winning Visitor and Education facility surrounded by the tranquil waters of the beautiful Attenborough Nature Reserve. Details: Pollyanna will be opening her private gallery over the bank holiday weekend as part of the Derbyshire Open Arts weekend – an annual visual arts and crafts event across the county which invites you to visit artists and craftspeople in their showspaces and workplaces. Pollyanna will be working on a demonstration painting at her gallery throughout the weekend, and will be happy to chat to visitors about her work. A selection of cards, prints and books will also be available. All visitors will have the opportunity to complete a simple questionnaire which will be entered into a prize draw towards the purchase of artwork by any of the participating artists. Details : Pollyanna is proud to present a major exhibition of original work in her private gallery, inspired by her recent expedition into some of the remotest parts of China to paint Giant Pandas and Tigers.
10% of all sales will be donated through the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation towards two projects – the Animals Asia Foundation Moonbear Sanctuary in Chengdu, and Naturewatch’s project Spotlight on China. Details: Pollyanna will include a selection of recent original work and limited edition prints in this fundraising exhibition to be held in the beautiful setting of Sandbeck Park by kind permission of Lord and Lady Scarbrough. SAFE@LAST is a charity working with and on behalf of children and young people at risk through running away. They run a free helpline service every day of the week, and a refuge where young people can stay while alternative accommodation is arranged. Details : As a signature member Pollyanna will again be including original paintings including the snow leopard above) in the Society of Feline Artist’s annual exhibition which celebrates cats of every type - from domestic kittens to big cats in the wild. This Exhibition is an important date for the London Diary, and is keenly anticipated by cat lovers and collectors around the world

The 3rd October has been designated World Animal Day - a time for animal welfare groups, sanctuaries and individuals throughout the world to encourage people to think about how we humans relate to animals. World Animal Day has been celebrated on the feast day of St Francis of Assisi since 1931. The 25th October has been designated International Artists Day – “a worldwide tribute to artists to honour and bring recognition to the contributions they have made to civilization”. The organisers suggest that everyone around the world can do something special on that day to enhance the visual arts: buy a piece of art, visit an exhibition or attend a talk by your favourite artist….!

Details : Pollyanna is proud to present a new exhibition of original work in her private gallery.. Also on show will be her full range of fine art and limited edition prints, gift ware and collectables alongside an exclusive display of the latest selection of gift ware commissioned by Harrods. Five new calendars for 2010 featuring Pollyanna’s work will be available throughout. There will be over 150 Christmas card designs to choose from, including the latest charity cards published by Guide dogs for the Blind, the RSPCA, Cats Protection League, The Wildlife Trust, and Blue Cross among many others alongside the new range range of eco-friendly wrapping paper and cards.
