Book Launch – Inspired by Nature
We are very proud to present a brand new book celebrating Pollyanna’s artwork.
Throughout her life Pollyanna loved to collect inspirational and beautiful quotes. She would tear them from magazines, copy them from books and scribble words in the margin of her sketchbook when she was out in the field. The phrases she noted down made her laugh, pause or think. Many related to her deep lifelong love of wildlife and the natural world. She would even write out her favourites to pin around her studio to help inspire her as she worked.
As Pollyanna juggled an unbelievably hectic schedule working in her studio alongside her expeditions, TV and radio appearances, talks and presentations many of her favourite quotations helped to remind her to take a moment to slow down and breathe. Knowing how these lovely words resonated so deeply with Pollyanna that they almost seemed to have been written with her in mind, Anna-Louise felt that they would speak to everyone who has a love of both art and the written word. She has compiled a selection of these timeless phrases – some well known, some you will doubtless discover here for the first time – into a collection which she has paired with over 50 of Pollyanna’s paintings in this lavishly illustrated book.
Beautiful and thoughtful phrases written by everyone from poets like William Blake to conservationists including Jane Goodall sit alongside Pollyanna’s unique and enchanting paintings and sketches of her beloved British Wildlife – many of which are published here for the very first time.
