Talk : Gone Walkabout : An Artist Downunder

Details : In December 2016 Pollyanna stepped off a plane on to Australian soil – and in doing so successfully completed an incredible quest – to be one of the few artists who have painted on all seven continents! Join Anna-Louise as she returns to the Wollaton Natural History Society to present this  talk about Pollyanna’s expedition into Australia to paint kangaroos, koalas and other wildlife.

While on the continent, Pollyanna took the opportunity to learn more about Aboriginal bushcraft and art, saying “I have always been fascinated by aboriginal art which is itself inspired by the natural patterns of nature – animal tracks and the shapes of rocks and rivers – and I have included some of those influences in my finished paintings.” Anna-Louise will be sharing images of this artwork, along with her own photographs during the talk.

Visitor tickets £3.50 available on the door.
