Association of Animal Artists Pollyanna Pickering Award

Pictured left is the stunning Pollyanna Pickering Living World Award for Artistic Excellence which will be presented annually at the Association of Animal Artists Exhibition in her memory. Pollyanna’s daughter and business partner Anna-Louise judged the first winning artwork – and was joined by Lord Frank Pennington , The mayor of Frodsham to make the presentation of the award at the exhibition preview. AAA Chair Alison Stafford (right) accepted the award on behalf of winner Chrissie Smith who couldn’t be present on the evening. As part of the Award, Chrissie’s striking glass Artwork “Terns of Tortuguero” was exhibited alongside Pollyanna’s artwork in the Sprit of the jaguar exhibition – the first time another artist’s artwork has ever been exhibited in Pollyanna’s private gallery!

Chrissie told us “I don’t know how to put across all the emotions I felt when I got home from holiday in Jordan, only to find I had won the Pollyanna Pickering Award. I have watched Pollyanna whilst she painted at the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art and remember her enthusiasm and her encouraging responses……..so I am thrilled to have this incredible prize for the year. We have spent a very memorable few weeks in Costa Rica never realising that those electric cables which the howler monkeys were balanced on could cause their death. It would be wonderful to help in the Shock Free Zone fundraising.”
