Foundation funds Police Training Courses to combat Badger Baiting

The Pollyanna Pickering Foundation has contributed £3000.00 to deliver police training courses on badger persecution, to forces across the UK, to support police officers in bringing more perpetrators before the courts. The courses will be developed and delivered by the Badger Trust.

The Foundation is also partnering with Naturewatch to relaunch their campaign to end badger baiting. The project will include working with professional investigators to investigate a badger baiting ring and hand over the resulting evidence to the police with the aim of bringing the perpetrators before the courts. Naturewatch are in the process of working with HIS to identify leads and plan to begin the investigation later this year.

Pollyanna said “Badgers are beautiful intelligent animals, and it is inconceivable that the unspeakably cruel practice of badger baiting still occurs in 2017 – and that the perpetrators are rarely brought to justice. We all need to work together to bring it to an end.”
