Pollyanna Wins Association of Animal Artists Gold Medal

Pollyanna is honoured to have been given the Gold Medal for the Best Painting in Show at the Association of Animal Artists Annual Exhibition for her study of a Jacob’s Ram. She is pictured above receiving her award from the AAA Chair Alison Stafford.

The painting was selected from over 200 works on exhibition at the Castle Park Arts Centre in Frodsham, Cheshire, submitted by artists from throughout the UK and around the world. The event was selected by Artists and Illustrators magazine as one of the 12 most inspiring art exhibitions in the UK.

“it was a huge surprise” Pollyanna commented after collecting her award at the Preview evening “It is quite a subtle picture, and I thought it could easily be overlooked, so I am absolutely delighted that it was the painting which caught the judge’s eye!” Visitors to Pollyanna’s forthcoming Diamond Exhibition in her own gallery in November will have the opportunity to view the award-winning painting – alongside the medal.

The AAA was founded to offer opportunities and support to artists from around the world working in the field of wildlife and animal art. It is the friendship and genuine support that the artists give each other and the charities which the AAA supports, which is the hallmark of the Association.

Pollyanna believes that societies such as the AAA and The Wildlife Art Society International, of which she is Patron offer wonderful support to artists “I believe I have the best job in the world – but of course much of the time I work in isolation in my studio. Groups like this offer support and guidance – and of course the opportunity to include artwork in world-class exhibitions”

Pollyanna has previously won over 30 national and International awards recognising her achievements in both art and conservation, and last year the AAA bestowed their Inaugural Chairman’s Award on Pollyanna at a gala dinner. This prestigious award is given to the artist who the Association considers has done the most to raise the profile of Wildlife Art in the wider community.
