Sir Tony Robinson Picks a Winner

We were delighted that Sir Tony Robinson, one of our most popular actors and TV presenters, took time out of his busy schedule to join Pollyanna’s daughter Anna-Louise – who is a trustee of the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation – to draw the winning ticket in the 2107 winter prize draw.

The lucky winner, Mrs Quinn of Rotherham  has won an original  painting of a robin.

Tony is an actor, comedian, author, presenter, historian and political activist, best known for playing Baldrick in the BBC television series  Blackadder as well as for hosting the popular Channel 4 programmes Time Team  and The Worst Jobs in History. He has also written sixteen children’s books.  He was knighted in recognition of his public and political service.

Tony is the latest in a line of celebrities who have drawn the winning tickets for the Foundation – including Sir David Attenborough, Stephen Fry, Graham Norton, Virginia McKenna, Toyah Willcox, Martin Clunes, Amanda Holden and Chris Packam!

Between the sales of prize draw tickets, donations and a percentage of sales from Pollyanna’s Winter exhibition the Foundation has raised £1650.00 to construct an outside hedgehog pen and wild bird aviary in St Budeaux, Plymoth, and £525.00 to create a new exercise and agility space at Oak Tree Animals Centre in Cumbria. An additional £1000.00 has been put towards the £2250.00 needed to fund the continuing care of rescued moonbear Mr Polly during 2018.
