Toyah Picks the Winning Ticket

Singer and actress Toyah Willcox (left) joined Pollyanna’s daughter and Business Partner Anna-Louise to draw the winning ticket of the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation Summer grand prize draw. Anna-Louise is also a trustee of the Pollyanna Pickering Foundation, which campaigns internationally to prevent the exploitation of wildlife and raises funds to support animal welfare and conservation projects worldwide.

Toyah regularly topped the charts as a singer in the eighties, and has gone on to become one of our most popular actresses and TV presenters. She is also a great animal lover, and has been pleased to support the Foundation’s work on several occasions. She took time out of her hectic touring schedule to draw the winning tickets. Pollyanna and Toyah are co-patrons of Naturewatch.

Mr Lawman of Chesterfield is the lucky winner of Pollyanna’s original painting of koalas, while the second prize winner Mr Allen of Heage will receive a signed limited edition print. A further ten runners up have also been sent signed books and calendars.

Between the sales of prize draw tickets, donations and a percentage of sales from Pollyanna’s Wonderful World exhibition the Foundation has raised £1650.00 to purchase an outside hedgehog enclosure and wildbird flight aviary for rehabilitating birds cared for at St. Budeaux Hedgehog Rescue in Plymouth. £2250.00 has also been raised to pay for the continued care of Polly, the Foundation’s rescued Asiatic moonbear. Polly was rescued from the unspeakably cruel bear bile trade, and now lives happily in the beautiful Animals Asia Sanctuary in Tam Dao, Vietnam.
