Wildlife artist Pollyanna Pickering and her Daughter writer & photographer Anna-Louise have travelled into some of the remotest and most inhospitable parts of the globe to study and record endangered species. They have had close encounters with some of the worlds most beautiful, exotic and endangered animals….. and also with some of the world’s most least beautiful and exotic loos.
Around 4 billion people on the planet don’t have somewhere safe and hygienic to go to the loo. Sadly girls in particular on reaching puberty will leave school simply because there is nowhere safe and private to use – such a sad reason to have to drop out of education
The Pollynana Pickering Foundation funds the building of toilet blocks in schools in Sierra Leone through Toilet Twinning. To help fund this project Anna-Louise has compiled this souvenir booklet, in which she takes a look back at some of the most memorable calls of nature.
