Pollyanna’s home county of Derbyshire has one of the highest populations of badgers in the UK, so it is not surprising that they frequently featured in her paintings.
She spent many hours watching and sketching them – chilly evenings huddled in a makeshift hide near to a wild sett, alternately sipping from a hot flask, and adding another few strokes of brush work to her sketch sheet. Like every artist absorbed in her painting she could often be seen rinsing her brush in her coffee, and drinking from her jar of paint water!
Pollyanna was proud to hold the the post of patron to the Badger Trust.
