Although Pollyanna was renowned for her expeditions into remote parts of the world to study and paint endangered species in their natural habitats, she also loved to paint the wildlife found much closer to home.
She made regular visits to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, and loved to paint the abundant wildlife she sketched while there. This dramatic portrait of a golden eagle was inspired by sketches she made during her travels in the highlands.
