The BBC1 documentary ‘Made in England’ about Pollyanna’s work was part of a series each of which focused on a British artist working in a different field – from wildlife art to poetry and sculpture.
The documentary makers challenged Pollyanna to ‘work outside her comfort zone’ and instead of painting the birds and animals she loves, to turn her attention to the ‘human zoo’ and paint people instead!
During the filming Pollyanna attended her first ever rugby match to sketch the Leicester Tigers in action.
Founded in 1880, the Leicester Tigers have gone on to become one of the most successful and well-known rugby clubs in the world.
This painting celebrates their strength, energy and success.
